Please be safe at our airport

In Pine Mountain Lake the Airport is inserted in an active community and safety is a major concern.

We do not encourage driving cars on the Pine Mountain Lake Airport, however if you do drive there here are some rules that must be followed for your safety and the safety of the pilots using the airport:

  • Never, never drive on the runway.
  • Vehicles can cross on the west end of the runway only.
  • Stop before crossing the runway and look both directions twice.  Look in the air and on the runway for airplanes.
  • Airplanes ALWAYS have the right of way.
  • Don't park on the runway side of the taxiway.  This is a "clear zone" for the aircraft and must kept clear.
  • Park at least 25' off the taxiway.  Some airplanes have 50' wing spans and need wing tip clearance to taxi.
  • When driving on the taxiway always pull off the taxiway to let airplanes pass.
